1A1 at Bridge21

Class 1A1 had an incredible opportunity today to attend Bridge21 at Trinity College. They were given the chance to work in teams and use their skills to create an advertisement for a product that might be available to purchase in the year 2050. They only had a couple of hours but they used that time to stretch their imaginations and produce some witty ads – watch out Mad Men!!

Aesthetic Use of Language in advertising

The new advertisement for St. Patrick’s day is an excellent example of how information can be used to enhance the aesthetic use of language. There are many facts and figures which are paired with beautiful images and James Vincent McMorrow’s haunting rendition of ‘Higher Love’. This potent combination makes us proud to be Irish and certainly tugs at the heart strings.
